Sometimes sagging upper eyelids can be the result of a drooping forehead and eyebrows. In this situation, treating the eyelids alone won’t provide a pleasing or natural appearance. A common procedure to help solve this issue is a browlift.

A browlift can simultaneously solve the problem of sagging eyelids and forehead wrinkles. Alternatively, an injectable treatment may provide a non-surgical solution. This involves an injection which will relax the muscles and smooth away those wrinkles and fine lines. Your surgeon can advise you on the best option during your initial consultation.

Sometimes referred to as a forehead lift or browplasty, a brow lift is a procedure carried out regularly at the Cadogan Clinic and is a relatively simple and very safe way of lifting drooping eyebrows and deep forehead lines to help rejuvenate and soften the look of the face naturally. The procedure is typically carried out under general anaesthesia so you won't feel anything except for perhaps a mild headache afterwards, which can be managed very easily with pain killers.

Typically, patients suitable for this surgery are around the age of between 40-60 years old, with good skin elasticity, although, this procedure can help patients of any age with a low or heavy brow area - your surgeon will assess your suitability for this procedure during your initial consultation.

Your surgeon will advise you during your consultation to stop smoking or taking certain medications prior to your surgery which can slow down healing but he or she will discuss this with you during your consultation.

A brow lift involves a long incision from one side of the forehead to the other across the top of the head, the forehead is lifted and the incision is then sutured.  An endoscopic brow lift technique uses a camera and involves much smaller incisions and minimal scarring.

Our cosmetic surgeons are highly experienced in carrying out facial lifting procedures and will ensure that your results are completely natural.  Once full healing has taken place, you will look refreshed and more youthful. Our before & after photos will give you a good indication of results achieved with this procedure.

As brow lift surgery at the Cadogan Clinic is such a straightforward and safe treatment, any risks associated with this procedure are minimal and include forehead muscle weakness which is very rare and temporary. However, the risks associated with having a general anaesthetic are the same as any other procedure -  your surgeon will run through the procedure with you in detail at your consultation and answer any questions or concerns you might have.

As for downtime, your surgeon may advise for you to take a week off work depending on your case as you may have minor swelling and bruising, this usually subsides after around 7-10 days after which you will begin to see your results, the improvement only just get better with time and after around three months post-surgery you will see your final results.

After a couple of days following surgery you will be up and about but it is important to be gentle with you face as skin may still be numb. If you feel any unusual discomfort, your doctor can provide pain relief for you, although this is not always required.

Prices for a brow lift at Cadogan Clinic start at £4950.
